AAA: Gas prices up in Utah because of Hurricane Harvey

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah — Hurricane Harvey has disrupted the global supply enough that we are now getting higher gas prices here, even though the gulf does not supply our gas.

 

Strong summer travel demand also pushed up prices.

Driving around Wednesday morning revealed signs proclaiming $2.58, $2.63 $2.64 a gallon at different locations downtown Salt Lake City.

 

AAA says Utah’s average is now $2.66, up 13 cents from last month. Salt Lake City’s average is now $2.65, up 23 cents since last month.

 

Moab has the highest. It’s $2.86 there.
