Utah Health Centers are getting a leg up in the fight against opioid addiction with a recent million dollar grant from the federal government.

Split between 11 health centers in Utah the money is close to about 85 thousand dollars per center. It’s isn’t a cash fall but Lori Wright, the CEO of Family Health Care, says it’s enough money to make a difference. She says the money will allow them to hire more employees which makes better one-on-one care possible.

“The kind of person that can reach out and call those people, make sure we are getting appropriate follow up and check on them post treatment.” Wright said.

Wright’s clinic helps care for about 13 thousand patients.
