“See you at the movies.”

It’s been a while since moviegoers had the chance to sit back in a dark theater with a large bucket of popcorn and a cold Diet Coke and enjoy a blockbuster movie on the big screen. But Disney and Marvel Studios are hoping to change that this year.

On Monday, Marvel Entertainment released a video celebrating the movies and teasing an updated timeline for their Phase 4, a group of superhero films and television series based on Marvel Comics publications intended to be released over the next two years.

See you at the movies

Using clips from previous Marvel movies, the video starts with a narration from Stan Lee, the late creator who shared these superheroes with the world.

“I love being with people. It’s the most incredible thing in the world. That world may change and evolve, but the one thing that will never change, we’re all part of one big family,” Lee says.

“That man next to you, he’s your brother. That woman over there, she’s your sister. We’re all part of one universe that moves ever upward and onward to greater glory.”

The video then shares a moment captured by an audience member filming the reaction of an audience on the opening night of Avenger’s Endgame as the heroes all show up to take on the Titan Thanos.

Then the video changes gears and moves forward into the new timeline for their cinematic universe, releasing the new dates their films will be back in theaters.

  • Black Widow (July 9, 2021)
  • Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings (September 3, 2021)
  • Eternals (November 5, 2021)
  • Spider-Man: No Way Home (December 17, 2021)
  • Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (March 25, 2022)
  • Thor: Love and Thunder (May 6, 2022)
  • Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (July 8, 2022)
  • The Marvels (November 11, 2022)
  • Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania (February 17, 2023)
  • Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 3 (May 5, 2023)

The last major update for this batch of new movies came in September of 2019 at the San Diego Comic-Con, and since then the timeline has changed significantly.

As a final nod, the studio rounded out this Phase 4 update with another famous, or some might say ‘Fantastic’ tease that many on the internet believe teases that the Fantastic Four will make their Marvel Comics Universe appearance soon.

Topping it all off, the studio leaves the audience with a simple, “See you at the movies.”
