Utah Pride Festival and parade set to return this June

SALT LAKE CITY — The annual Utah Pride Parade and Festival in Salt Lake City will make its return this year.
The June festival was put on pause for the last two years because of the pandemic. And it’s coming back bigger than ever, especially after June was just designated LGBTQ+ Pride month last year.
Normally, the parade only goes for about eight blocks. This year it will go for 13.
“For the LBGTQ+ community, as well as our allies and the broader community in general, this is a time, a week, a Pride month… that is ours,” said Kevin Randall with the Utah Pride Center.
“It is a time for us to show pride, to go to a place in our city, in our state, where we feel like we belong, where we feel like we’re accepted, and can be who we are,” said Randall.
The festival runs from Sunday, May 29 to Sunday, June 4. The Utah Pride Center is also looking for more than 100 volunteers to help with the festival.
