I am nominating my science teacher, his name is Bruce Borrowman. I am nominating him because he has a good way of teaching and he is also fun. I love going to his class everyday because I always learn well and have a fun time at the same time. He teaches science better than any other science teacher I’ve ever had, I have gotten much better grades in his class than with any other teacher. I think he is the best science teacher ever.

Mr. Borrowman is a good teacher because if I don’t get something he will always explain it to me. He also spends time one on one to help the students get the subject better. He uses power points that he makes himself and makes them fun too. I usually don’t like power points but his are fun and you learn from them. He also assigns not too much homework but enough for everyone to get the practice we need.

Mr. Borrowman is also very fun person. We will be in class and then he will spout out a joke about the thing that we are learning about. His jokes can even help us get the answers right. Another thing I like about him is that he goes over all the worksheets with us to make sure that we get it. This also helps us get better grades. I think he is the best science teacher ever!

Bruce Borrowman is a science teacher here at Syracuse Arts Academy. He is a very caring and understanding teacher. He wants students to excel in his class. He provides a lot of helpful recourses to accomplish that. We as a class go through the assignments and ask any questions we have along the way. We also read as a class to have a better understanding of the text. He gives us all an equal opportunity to make up work, tests, or quizzes. It is a class I enjoy having because of how calm his classroom is.

When you want into his class, he greets you and welcomes you to class. Mr. Borrowman always has fun lessons planned or activities. He tries to schedule a lab once a week or some fun activity instead of the regular lessons. Taking notes in Mr. Borrownman’s class is always exciting. He has fun diagrams on the board or on the television.

During Mr. Borrowman’s class there really never is a dull moment. He is fun and is always wandering the classroom checking up on students. He is a very carefree, yet strict teacher. He wants his students to do their best and will help them any chance he gets. Overall, Mr. Borrowman is an outstanding teacher and deserves to be recognized.

My name is Amanda Bigelow and I am a student at Syracuse Arts Academy. My learning experience has been great thanks to my science teacher Bruce Borrowman. Mr. Borrowman is a very well educated and amazing teacher. I used to have a hard time understanding some concepts in my science classes but now I am able to understand everything. He explains everything so well and deserves to be recognized for his great efforts.

Mr. Borrowman teaches everything on a level that can be understood by everyone in the class. He is always ready and willing to give further explanation if needed. Whenever I am confused he will take the time to clarify everything and even give examples. Mr. Borrowman does not only give explanations during class, he will answer any other questions you may have after class. He has a good understanding of many scientific concepts and will enlighten you on those subjects. If you have a question about something that does not have to do will the lesson that we are learning in class, he will take time to answer it after class as well. He is always ready and willing to do something for you if you need it.

Another reason Mr. Borrowman should be recognized for his amazing teaching methods is the use of his resources. He will set up experiments for us to do during class. Lately we have been learning about the processes that form clouds. Mr. Borrowman set up a “cloud factory” in the laboratory next door to his classroom and we got to make our own clouds in jars. Seeing the clouds being formed right in front of us helped many of the students learn more about clouds. When it got cloudy enough some of us even got to see it rain! These things help students learn and remember about clouds so we have that knowledge in the future.

Lastly Mr. Borrowman should win this recognition because his lessons are permanent. Sometimes you learn things, but you forget before you even get to take a test. Mr. Borrowman’s teaching strategy really works because it is easy to remember the things he teaches. Giving examples and explaining things that aren’t easily understood solidify things in my memory. When I learn something from Mr. Borrowman I can remember because he does this in his teaching. Rather than trying to jam information in your mind and hoping you pass the CRT’s at the end of the year; he makes science fun. Having fun and enjoying the class helps me know the information, not just learn it for the day.

Mr. Borrowman is truly deserving of this Teacher Feature award. Everything he does benefits the students for the positive. His classroom is a great learning environment for any student and he teaches to our level of understanding. He makes science fun and exciting so you will have a permanent knowledge of the concepts taught. Mr. Borrowman is more concerned with understanding than just memorizing things for a test. I think my teacher, Mr. Borrowman, is an amazing teacher that needs some recognition. I hope you consider him to receive your Teacher Feature award. Thank you so much for your time.

Sincerely,

Amanda Bigelow

I have decided to nominate my ninth grade science teacher, Bruce Borrowman, because he is a fun teacher who encourages creativity in our class. When he teaches he makes sure that no student is falling behind, if we have late or missing work he lets us know. When we do labs he makes sure that everyone understands the experiment and the purpose of the lab. He prepares us for our tests by giving us reviews and sometimes having us do diagrams.
We do these things called table points where we all have tables or “houses” that are named after scientists an example would be “house Newton”. We get points by answering the bell work and participating in class. When it comes to our term test the winning team doesn’t have to take the test, which is great if you don’t do well on your tests. The rest of the class takes the test and tries harder for points the next term.

I look forward to going to science class every day. Recently we were working on our oceanography section and we did a project where we had to choose certain things we wanted to do off of a list that ranged from writing and performing a song to making a paper. I enjoyed the assignment along with many other students who did. It was fun listening to the different songs. We also did a lab recently where we went outside and had to draw the different clouds. I hope you enjoyed hearing about our teacher thank you for reading.
