The following was submitted by Keri Romney.

“Ms. Parry is the best teacher! Everyone in the school knows that she is the one to get in 1st Grade at Dilworth. Her students excel in all areas in the classroom, especially at reading. Her teaching methods teach the children not only reading, math, art, and social studies, but she helps them learn hard work, time management and and how to work efective and independent. All skills that are not easily taught to 6 and 7 years old children.

My son is in her class this year and is young for his age. He is very timid and shy, but he loves going to school each day! It is because of Ms. Parry! She always has extra creative art projects that non of my other children got to do in 1st grade, and my son didn’t even want to miss one day of school when we went to Hawaii recently because he didn’t want to miss any of the cool things they do in class.

Ms. Parry does a huge Chinese New Year celebration each year and does a really good job of teaching the kids about different cultures and nature, they even got to make origami panda bears!
The most amazing thing that Ms Parry does that no other teachers do is she helps the students write an opera each year. The kids practice and then perform the opera once for the school and once for the community. Ms. Parry does all of the costumes and most of the set design and makes each kid feel like they have a special part. As a mom I really value any teacher who can keep up with all of the regular curriculum and and take on a project (like an opera) and enrich my child’s learning through music and art. She truly deserves this recognition! It is a privilege for me to know her and for her to be my son’s teacher.”

We want to hear from you.
