Five or six years ago, Mr. Bezzant was in an accident that left him paralyzed. He worked so hard to be able to return to teaching the next year, with the help of special equipment, and with the help and support of his wonderful wife. The two of them are completely dedicated to his students, and often their van can be seen in the school parking lot late into the evening, after everyone else is gone. Mr. Bezzant connects with his students by telling them fascinating stories that help them learn without even realizing they are. He treats every student with respect and has a way of correcting them without belittling them. Despite the fact that he is confined to a wheelchair and endures many health challenges and much discomfort, he comes to school with a cheerful attitude every day. Mrs. Bezzant is there every morning and afternoon, and also comes during lunch every day to assist with details in the classroom. They truly are an amazing team and I have been grateful for the growth I have seen in my three children who have been in Mr. Bezzant’s fourth grade classroom.
