Well, the two-legged pup named Lieutenant Dan might not have his back legs, or be a rabbit, he’s now the new Cadbury Bunny.

The two-legged dog from a Cincinnati suburb has a birth defect that required his back legs to be amputated, but his owners say that hasn’t stopped him from doing anything.

His owners told the Cincinnati Enquirer that Lt. Dan “he has a joy for life that’s infectious and inspiring,” which is why they thought he’d be the perfect fit to be the clucking bunny.

The candy company has held tryouts featuring all sorts of furry friends vying to become the mascot. The company says after getting a great response from last year’s winner, Henri the bulldog, they decided to bring back the bunny tryouts.

“The Cadbury Clucking Bunny commercial has been a perennial Easter favorite for over 30 years. After last year’s newest edition, featuring Henri the bulldog, and the overwhelming positive feedback we’ve received, we decided to bring back the bunny tryouts,” Ethan Mandel, associate brand manager for Cadbury, told WLWT.

In the announcement of the winner, Cadbury says that “Lieutenant Dan was born different, but hasn’t let that slow him down! He has a joy for life that is infectious and inspiring!”

Now he’ll have the opportunity to star in an upcoming commercial for the brand as well as take home $5,000.

Cadbury will also donate $10,000 to The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) in the winner’s name.
