Dennis Hill Fire burns 700 acres near Park Valley Utah

PARK VALLEY, Utah– An unknown cause has kindled the Dennis Hill Fire in Box Elder County.

Fire authorities estimate the Dennis Hill Fire has burned 700 acres and is moving at 2 miles per hour near Park Valley, Utah.


 

Authorities have dispatched air and ground resources to suppress the Fire.

Other fires burning in Utah

 

The Strawberry Fire

This fire was reported Monday at 2 pm near Bowers Flat north of Duck Creek Village in Kane County. The fire is mostly burning forest timber and the cause remains unknown.

 

The Big Hollow Fire

This fire started on Thursday, July 16 at 4:30 pm. Later an evacuation order was issued for Little Sweden Road from 1200 East to Daniels Road and was lifted at 11:30 p.m. with the expectation that the homeowners need to be ready to leave at a moment’s notice if the condition of the fire changed. Voluntary evacuations remain in place since yesterday. 

It is currently 22 percent contained. A more accurate mapping of the fire shows that the fire has grown to 418 acres.

The fire is human-caused but still under investigation

 

The Cottonwood Trail Fire

This fire is estimated at 3,000 acres in size and 10 percent of the fire is contained. All evacuations have been lifted with only local traffic allowed in the Angel Heights area.
