SALT LAKE CITY — The Utah Highway Patrol (UHP) said they handled 135 crashes across Utah from 4:30 p.m. Saturday to 8:15 a.m. Sunday morning due to the hazardous driving conditions brought on by winter weather.
There were a significant number of crashes near the Point of the Mountain between Salt Lake County and Utah County, the UHP said. The hazardous driving conditions were caused by high winds that caused ice to form on the freeway.
The UHP is asking people to slow down and give themselves extra room when driving during weather changes.
