WELLINGTON, Utah — The city of Wellington placed its police chief, a city council member, on unpaid leave, but continued to stay quiet about the reasons why.
Chief Rory Bradley had been on paid leave since at least March 18, which the city announced in an earlier statement as “pending the process of a personnel action.” Friday, that paid leave became unpaid instead, but Wellington City administrators offered no additional information about the action.
Neither the earlier statement nor the new statement issued Friday offered details about when Bradley was placed on leave.
Bradley and his father both serve as members of the city council, but did not attend a council meeting Thursday.
The statement released Friday contained just two sentences.
Effective April 1, 2021, Wellington City Police Chief, Rory Bradley will be placed on unpaid administrative leave pending the process of a personnel action and active investigation. No additional information regarding this matter is available at this time.
Bradley began serving as Wellington’s police chief in 2018.
