SANPETE COUNTY, Utah — Officials from the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources have taken a correctional officer at the Central Utah Correctional Facility into custody for alleged wildlife violations.

Scott Stallard was arrested Friday by DWR officials on suspicion of wildlife violations in connection to poaching big game and upland game. The DWR did not provide details.

The DWR served a search warrant Friday at Stallard’s residence. The Sanpete County’s Sheriff Office and the Gunnison Valley Police Department assisted in the search.

Kaitlin Felsted, of the Utah Department of Corrections, confirmed Stallard is an correctional officer at the facility in central Utah. She said the department is aware of the charges and he has been placed on administrative leave.
