Rain in the forecast for Utah on Friday

SALT LAKE CITY — You better pull out your umbrella, rain is in the forecast for Friday for much of Utah.
According to the National Weather Service of Salt Lake City, some parts of the state could receive anywhere from a quarter to a half-inch of rain.
Rain in the forecast
Northern Utah is expected to receive light rain through Saturday.

The National Weather Service says the valleys will receive rain, while the forecast calls for snow in the mountains through Saturday.

According to the National Weather Service, northern valleys in Utah could receive anywhere from a half inch to 1 inch of rain. Rain totals will decrease the further south you go.

Stong winds
Friday’s storm was proceeded by windy conditions around the state on Thursday. According to the National Weather Service, many locations around Utah experienced wind gusts of at least 40 mph.
However, there were a few spots that experienced much stronger wind gusts. The National Weather Service reports that Mt. Baldy near Deer Valley had a wind gust of 84 mph Thursday evening. U.S. Highway 6 at Eureka had a gust of 68 mph.
