LEHI, Utah — Lehi City announced in a Facebook post that many areas of the city will have restrictions on fireworks.

Restricted areas include all north of Timpanogos Highway, south of Pioneer Crossing and an expanded area in the Dry Creek area.

Exceptions to the firework restrictions

These restrictions do not apply to all areas within Lehi. The city will allow fireworks at the following locations:

Fireworks will be allowed at these spots on July 3 between the hours of 9 p.m. and 11 p.m. and on July 4 between the hours of 9 p.m. and 12 p.m.

In addition to these locations, restrictions will not apply to permitted public firework displays authorized by the city and approved by its fire code official.

Lehi City reminds, in the post, that the negligent lighting of fireworks is prohibited within city boundaries. It constitutes a Class B Misdemeanor, which could result in six months in jail and a fine of up to $1,000.
