SOLITUDE, Utah — Solitude Mountain Resort announced Friday morning that it would open for its season a week early on Nov. 11. The resort originally planned on opening on Nov. 18

In a press release, the resort said recent snowfall had brought on “optimal conditions.”

Solitude is the second resort to push its opening date. Brian Head opened Friday after pushing its opening date by two weeks, becoming the first resort to start its 2022-2023 season.

Solitude’s ski season this year will be its earliest opening since 2013, the resort said.

Opening celebrations will start at 8:00 a.m. on Nov. 11 with donuts and music.

The resort said it would open its Moonbeam Express and Link Lift from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Because the resort opens on Veteran’s Day, it said it would offer free lift tickets to active, reserve and retired military veterans.
