Church announces sites for three previously announced temples

SALT LAKE CITY — The First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints announced Monday the locations of three previously announced temples.

The locations were announced for the Santiago West Chile Temple, the Cleveland Ohio Temple, and the Austin Texas Temple.

Additionally, the church also released renderings of four other temples that have previously been announced. Those temples are: Kaohsiung Taiwan Temple, the Singapore Temple, the Knoxville Tennessee Temple and the Modesto California Temple.

Santiago West Chile Temple

According to a news release, this temple will be built at Primo de Rivera 1551, Comuna de Maipu, Santiago. The church says this will be a one-story structure of roughly 12,500 square feet. 

The Santiago West Chile Temple was first announced by President Russell M. Nelson in October 2021. It will be the second temple in the city. The Santiago Chile Temple was dedicated in September 1983.

Temples in North America

According to the news release. the Cleveland Ohio Temple will be constructed at Brecksville Road, south of Longano Drive Independence, Cuyahoga County, Ohio.

The church says this will be a one-story structure of roughly 9,900 square feet. It was first announced by President Nelson in April 2022. 

It is the second temple in Ohio. The other, the Columbus Ohio Temple, is currently under renovation. 

President Nelson first announced the Austin Texas Temple in October 2021. The news release says it will be constructed on nearly 11 acres of land near next to an existing meeting house. It will be located at 1801 E. Park Street, Cedar Park, Texas.

Plans for this temple also call for a one-story structure, roughly 30,000 square feet.

This is one of eight temples in Texas that are either under construction or in operation.
