SALT LAKE CITY — Visitors to the NBA All-Star Weekend next weekend in Salt Lake City will have a chance to educate themselves about basketball around the world. It’s called NBA Films for Fans.

The league hired filmmakers from around the world to make 24 short films highlighting the sport around the world.

This weekend, fans will have a chance to see seven films from Australia, Brazil, Senegal, India and the United Kingdom among other countries. Those films are available this weekend as part of a fan experience called NBA Crossover at the Salt Palace.

It’s meant to celebrate how basketball is growing around the world. It’s also meant to celebrate Salt Lake City’s history as a filmmaker hub.

All 24 short films will be available later this year on the new global NBA app.
