SALT LAKE CITY — If you’ve thought about working in sports, there’s an event coming up that could give you some guidance. And it’s hosted by none other than civil rights legend, the Reverend Jesse Jackson.

The NBA and other groups are putting on a sports career program featuring prominent figures in the sports world.

Dr. Joseph Bryant Jr. is the National Sports Director for the Rainbow PUSH Coalition which was founded by Reverend Jackson. He is reminding people that the rainbow represents the goal to include all people and all backgrounds.

“[Reverend Jackson] began to bring about diversity and inclusion throughout the country … and so he saw that as a rainbow, all people, all colors all nationalities and all backgrounds,” said Bryant.

Along with sports, Bryant says they’ll talk about tech and digital opportunities.

“There will be wonderful opportunities for individuals to work in sports that aren’t on the court,” said Bryant.

It’ll be held at The Point Church in Kearns this Friday from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Through the event, Rainbow PUSH Coalition hopes to reach all of Salt Lake City with its mission goals: protecting, defending, and increasing civil rights by leveling the economic and educational playing fields.
