SALT LAKE CITY — The Salt Lake Airport is bracing for a potentially record-breaking day on the heels of NBA All-Star Weekend. More than an estimated 100 thousand visitors are starting to head home.

Airport officials are urging people to begin the process of getting to their gate at least 3 hours early to allow plenty of time.

Check out of your hotel five hours before your flight. And, return your rental car four hours ahead of time.

Following the 5-4-3-1 plan from SLC Airports Twitter will give you three hours to navigate the airport, two to get through security, and one hour at your gate. Making for plenty of time to fight any crowds.

The international airport has reported minimal delays today, but airport officials still urge people to head out with plenty of time to spare.

Visitors had good things to say about the state. Some told KSL NewsRadio that the atmosphere was more relaxed than they anticipated over the All-Star week and weekend.

“It was perfect actually, we’re from New York, so there was no traffic, in and out of the arena, everyone was really friendly,” a woman from New York told KSL NewsRadio.
