Dutch Bros raises thousands for local food banks

SALT LAKE CITY — Dutch Bros shops in Utah raised more than $23,000 earlier this month to help fight food insecurity in the state.
The company’s annual Dutch Luv Day took place on Feb. 17 and each location donated $1 from every drink sold to local food organizations.
Donations in Utah went to Utah Food Bank, Cache Community Food Pantry and Community Action Services and Food Bank.
Dutch Luv Day actually started as a canned food drive but over the last 17 years, it’s grown to become one of Dutch Bros’ three company-wide giveback days stated a press release.
According to Dutch Bros, the days are dedicated to helping support the communities it serves.
“We’re thrilled to announce the results of this year’s Dutch Luv day. Every year, our customers continue to amaze us with their generosity and commitment to supporting our communities,” said Katie Hutchison vice president of philanthropy at Dutch Bros Coffee, in a statement
“We’re so grateful to those who made this day possible; our customers, crews and the food organizations working to feed our communities.”
According to Dutch Bros, this year, Dutch Luv day raised more than $900,000 across its approximately 700 locations. The company said it hopes the impact of this year’s donation funds will go on to serve countless families in need.
