River causes damage, indefinite closure to SR-39 through Ogden Canyon

OGDEN, Utah — A river flood advisory is in effect for the Ogden River below Pineview Reservoir as UDOT works to control portions of SR 39 that were washed away by the rushing water.

On Thursday afternoon, officials with the National Weather Service reported mild flooding in Ogden Canyon, and that the river was undercutting SR-39.
SR-39 through Ogden Canyon is closed from the mouth of the canyon to Pineview Reservoir. The high water in the river washed away a section of bank underneath the road. SR-39 through Ogden is currently closed due to the river undercutting the roadway.
