WASHINGTON CITY — A Washington City teenager has been arrested on accusations of negligent homicide after a woman overdosed on heroin.
Washington County Drug Task Force investigators say 19-year-old Gadge Christensen admitted giving the woman the drugs and said he knew it was a harmful substance. He supposedly made the comments after a recent search of his home.
The woman died January 7th, but Christensen was not pinpointed as a suspect until the 25th. It’s unclear how long they knew each other.
This type of arrest is rare in Utah. State lawmakers defeated a bill last year that would let drug dealers be charged with first-degree murder if their clients overdosed.
