Utah fire chief killed in head-on collision with trucks

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — The fire chief of a Utah city has been killed in a head-on highway collision with two trucks.
The Utah Highway Patrol says Green River Fire Chief Philip Engleman was driving on U.S. Route 6 Sunday when his car crossed over the road’s center line and struck the semitractor-trailer trucks.
Authorities say Engleman died at the scene of the accident. The truck drivers were not injured in the crash.
The highway patrol says the accident occurred shortly before 4 p.m. near Green River, a city 139 miles (224 kilometers) southeast of Provo.
Additional information about a possible cause of the accident was not immediately available.
The highway patrol says the State Bureau of Investigation and other agencies have been contacted to aid in the investigation.
