Injured hiker rescued after 100 foot fall near Victory Road

SALT LAKE CITY — Salt Lake Fire’s Heavy Rescue Team was called to the scene of an injured hiker on Sunday morning.
The hiker had reportedly fallen more than 100 feet before landing on a cliff ledge, injuring his pelvis and leg. The hiker also lost his cell phone in the accident and was reportedly stranded on the ledge for more than five hours.

According to the Deseret News, the accident happened in the gravel pit on Victory Road in Salt Lake City.
