LAYTON, Utah — One person is dead following a three-vehicle crash late Thursday afternoon in Layton.
Layton Police say the crash occurred at 931 E. SR-193 at 4:49 p.m.
Early information from police says that an SUV driven by a 50-year-old woman was traveling westbound on SR-193. A pickup truck driven by a 75-year-old man pulled out of a mobile home park.
The SUV crashed into the driver’s side of the pickup. The driver of the pickup was ejected from the vehicle, suffering fatal injuries as a result of the collision and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the SUV was transported to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. According to police, the woman was cooperative with emergency personnel.
A third vehicle was hit by the pickup following the original collision.
All eastbound lanes of SR-193 were closed for a time.
Police say the site of the crash is not a busy intersection. However, SR-193 usually has a lot of traffic during that time of the day during the work week. Police also say there is usually a lot of traffic coming to and from Hill Air Force Base.
Additionally, police also mention SR-193 is a major avenue that connects Highway 89 to cities on the western side of Davis County.
