SALT LAKE CITY — Earlier this week, the First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints announced sites of the Kumasi Ghana Temple and the Oslo Norway Temple.

Church leadership also announced this week the Toronto Ontario Temple will close for renovation.

Kumasi Ghana Temple

According to a church news release, this temple will be constructed on 2.08 acres of land. It will be located at Y11 Suntreso Road, Bantama, Kumasi.

The temple will be a two-story structure of roughly 22,750 square feet.

The Kumasi Ghana Temple was first announced by President Russell M. Nelson in April 2021.

Oslo Norway Temple

This temple will be located at Smedsvingen and Ravnsborgveien roads in Hvalstad, Norway. Additionally, it will be built on 8 acres of land.

It will be a single-story structure of roughly 10,000 square feet, according to the news release.

The Oslo Norway Temple was also first announced in April 2021 by President Nelson.

Renovation of Toronto Ontario Temple

Church leaders say renovation on this temple will begin in October 2023. The closure is expected to last nine months.

The Toronto Ontario Temple was dedicated in 1990 by President Gordon B. Hinckley, of the First Presidency. Hinckley later became Church President.
