Jennie Stevens, West Bountiful Elementary

“I’ve been so impressed with my first grader’s teacher, Ms Stevens. Ms Stevens has been so aware of my student throughout the school year. She communicates quickly and often so I know how my child is doing, what events are upcoming and what assignments to expect. I especially appreciates that she is willing to pay special attention to my student when I let her know he had a hard morning. She checks with him and responds back to reassure me that he’s doing fine during the day. I know that she really cares for her students as she even attends their extra curricular activities. My son felt so special that Ms Stevens attended his baseball game! In addition to her caring nature, she is also adds creativity to the academics required. Throughout the year we’ve seen many creative projects that not only teach the subject, but also allow students to put their own spin on their learning. The students don’t even realize all the things they are learning because Ms Stevens makes it all seem like fun! I was recently in the classroom and noticed how responsive students were to her instruction. She has implemented quiet gestures to allow students to express themselves without being disruptive. This is incredible for 7 year olds!”
