MOAB, Utah — The Grand County Sheriff’s office has identified a suspect in the 2021 double homicide of Kylen Schulte and Crystal Turner near Moab.

What we know about the suspect

Adam Pinkusiewicz was reportedly a former employee at the same McDonald’s, where one of the victims, Turner, worked.

In a statement, Grand County Sheriff Steven White said Pinkusiewicz was one of many persons of interest who were being investigated by officials.

Police said that eventually, they determined that Pinkusiewicz was in the LaSal Mountains and Moab at the time of the homicides.

They said Pinkusiewicz left the state shortly after the murders, and later died by suicide.

The Grand County Sheriff’s office said that prior to committing suicide, the suspect told someone that he had killed Kylen Schulte and Crystal Turner.

Police said that the investigation into the murders of Schulte and Turner is ongoing. Particularly, they would like to speak to anybody who may have information about the vehicle pictured below. It is a 2007 Yaris that is currently in police custody.

How the family is reacting

The family of Kylen Schlute told Jeff Caplan’s Afternoon News that they can finally heal.

“We did it,” said Sean-Paul Schulte. “It was a tip that came into my Clue Booth months and months ago.”

“I cannot tell you. I can heal now. The girls are resting in peace now.”

If you have any information

Police ask anybody with information about Adam Pinkusiewicz or his vehicle to contact them at 435-259-8115.
