Day five in Lori Vallow Daybell trial goes quickly, final jury pool chosen

BOISE, Idaho — Court adjourned Friday after only a few hours on the fifth day of the Lori Vallow Daybell trial.

A long list of potential jurors got excused in the courtroom Friday morning, which narrowed down the jury pool to 10 men and eight women. Twelve of those jurors will be on the trial jury, and the remaining six will serve as alternates.
Vallow Daybell is charged with seven felonies. Both she and her husband, Chad Daybell, are accused of murdering her two children, JJ Vallow and Tylee Ryan.
Vallow Daybell is also accused of conspiring to murder Daybell’s late wife, Tammy Daybell. Vallow Daybell has pleaded not guilty.
Both the state of Idaho and the defense team found the jury acceptable. Next Monday, the 18 jurors will be sworn in as officers of the court.
Judge Steven Boyce has made it clear to the jury pool to stay clear of any media surrounding the case. Also, members are not to discuss the case with one another until deliberations commence.
Jury members will sign in each day and reaffirm that they have followed the instructions from the judge.
Failure to comply with the orders will result in an “uncomfortable conversation,” according to Boyce.
